It appears to be a Serial Killer's work. One of the more methodical and pathological ones vs. a wild hedonistic butcherer.

It does remind me of the graphic novel "From Hell." It had some wild shit about Jack the Ripper. The book has thorough research involved and some of its theories, I think, are fairly reasonable to believe as fact.
