Earlier this week a serious accident happened on a stretch of the BR - 101 involving a truck and a van that left three people dead and three others injured.
According to reports, the driver of the van identified only as Marivaldo, " made a double shift , he was a mechanic and driver. Marivaldo have stopped working around midnight and got up on Sunday at around 4am to catch a group of workers. For reasons still being investigated by police, at around 7 am, the van carrying 6 workers crashed violently with a trailer coming the opposite direction of the highway. With the violent impact, the van had the roof completely torn off and two of the three victims were beheaded and two other workers were rescued with minor injuries and taken to hospital in Entre Rios. A third injured victim was sent to hospital and underwent surgery, and the state of his health has not yet been revealed by doctors. In a statement, the union of oil Bahia, where everyone worked, said the driver did a double shift because the company wanted to save on hiring a driver.
