Around midnight on December 3, 2010, the nude, decapitated and castrated bodies of three men were discovered outside the offices of the newspaper El Debate de los Calentanos in Ciudad Altamirano, Guerrero, in Mexico's Tierra Caliente. Their removed heads, with the faces and scalps flayed away, had been placed beside the bodies along with a handwritten note on green cardboard. The men were never publicly identified, and the press did not publish the note's text, leaving the quoted version unconfirmed. The deaths were reported as among five executions in the region that day.
