Three Die in Scooter-Truck Crash in Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, August 22, 2023
A man and two women died when the scooter they were riding struck a truck in the early hours of August 22, 2023, at a traffic-light junction on Hanoi Street in Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmey, Khan Sen Sok district, Phnom Penh. Police said the three were traveling at high speed before the collision. City surveillance footage showed the truck crossing the junction, followed seconds later by debris and the fallen scooter, although the impact itself occurred out of camera view. Emergency personnel and police responded to the scene, and a police recovery truck later removed the scooter. |

wtf. That is too busy an intersection to be uncontrolled. Somebody was going against the light, or whatever. I'd bet on the scooter.

I really can't see what the traffic lights show when they go through them. I suspect they ran the red signal.  |

In my travels around SE Asia, a scooter like that could easily, and frequently, carry 4+ around in style ... 3 is a light load!
