you dont have to train a dog to do this. they are smart enough to sense when something is wrong, but most of the time act on impulse, not a process of thought. my american pitbull terrier would naturally do this too if someone were to break in.

The ears are probably scarred or partially removed from dog fights. It's also probably why the dog is so violent and ate most of that motherfucker's face.
