I think this is Theo Van Gogh.

The maker of the photograph is 27-year-old Aron Boskma from Amsterdam.

He made the picture with his mobile phone without knowing it was Theo van Gogh , untill he later read on teletext Theo was killed.

Boskma took the picture as an eyewitness account and for his friends to have some proof for his story. ''I was afraid they would not believe me otherwise.''

His story:''I was sitting in my car in Linnaeusstraat waiting for the traffic lights when I suddenly heard gunshots.

A moment later he saw a wavering man on the bike path.

"The man run down a cyclist, went along to my car bumper and crossed the road.

You could see that this man's had death on his heels.

I saw at that time that he had a gaping wound in his throat.''

''Next moment, a man ran in front of my car along the side and then behind him.
On the sidewalk he overtook him.
With two straight arms forward, Van Gogh tried to fend off his attacker.
At that time the man stabbed a Rambo knife in his heart.''

According to Boskma it was a huge knife with a blade approximately 30 inches.

''Immediately after he planted the second pointed weapon, a serrated knife type into his lower body Van Gogh collapsed.

I did not realize what I saw. I found it strange that the perpetrator didn't immediately let go of the knife and not pulled it from the body.

It was a brutal massacre. Van Gogh is slaughtered like a bull in the arena.''
