Thai Teen Electrocuted by Cell Phone
This high school girl was doing homework in her bedroom while listening to music on her cell phone with the charger plugged in. The house had been undergoing some construction and electrical work lately and some sort of fault in the line caused a massive burst of electrical current to surge through the charger and into the girl. When her father and grandmother went in to check on her after not hearing anything for a while, she was lying face down on her bamboo mat. She had urinated in her sweatpants and the smell of smoke was lingering in the air. They went to turn her over to see what was wrong and she was already dead, with electrical burns on her hands and neck.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

Aww, poor girl. When will people learn not to wear headphones whilst charging their mobile? There's been so many young lives lost because of it.

She was cute as a puppy. This seems to happen a LOT. I only recharge my stuff when I'm not wearing it. I don't care if IT burns, as long as I DON'T.

Tragic. She was very young. This electrocution method seems to be more efficient than old sparky. |

I believe that they use 220 volt plugs over there so the phone charger units handle a reduction down to 1.5 volt charging. Looks like plenty of water in area on mat could have shorted out charger adapter electrifying the common circuit of the head phone jack.

That was a murder. Bloody hands, defensive wounds, and that purple face is the result of cord being wrapped around her neck. |

The camera angle is such that I can't see a purple face, but those wounds on the hands and forearms are rather suspicious.

I mean, half of her family were home in the next room when she died and she had burns on her hands and around her ears and neck from the electrical discharge. The police ruled it an accidental death by electrocution.  But sure, maybe the family and the police and the coroner are working together in a vast conspiracy to cover up the murder of their daughter. Why not? |
