Those pointers have a difficult job. I've heard the mortality rate for pointers is around %40, usually from the increased risk of life-threatening carpal tunnel.

A very coveted position none-the-less the risks, a true pointer disregards his own danger, professionally and courteously pointing, stayed neither by snow nor rain nor heat nor darkness from accomplishing their appointed point with all speed.
