No child deserves that type of abuse for stealing a 6 baht piece of candy. What she did was horrific and should be punished appropriately. Furthermore, the parent shouldn't have had to pay the store 300 baht to let the boy go. That is extortion, plain and simple. |

in most third world countries, child abuse is not penalized quickly when it is still considered a family matter and under the reason of implementing disciplinary action. if what we know here is correct, in very progressive countries, hitting your own child with a simple stick when they do something wrong can be a start of a child abuse case against the parents. But here, its not always the case. the child have to be so hurt or maimed or bleeding before the courts take immediate action. or if the media got involved and the government have to put on a show of power and legalities.
