The Baloch have been chased away by the Sassanids, Buyids, Seljuks, Safafids, Mughals, Arabs, British Raj, Sindhi, Pashtuns - pretty much every group they have come in contact with in the last 2,500 years. They historically mostly made their living as robbers and highwaymen along the silk road and survived the Mongols only because their current homeland is a hostile wasteland that can be freezing cold in the winter. Interestingly enough the head of the terrorist group featured here was granted asylum in the UK and issues commands from a flat in Putney or Roehampton, somewhere around there. |
