According to eyewitnesses, a lad of about 18 years of age, decided to commit suicide, taking advantage of the Park Bridge (popularly referred to as the Bridge of Lovers or the devil's bridge). He went to the bridge, climbed over the edge, and immediately, and without delay jumped. The boy died from his injuries on the spot. The identity of the deceased was not disclosed. The police revealed that shortly before his death he sent a text message to his parents saying "I am in the Mariinsky Park, good-bye...."

That bridge just doesn't look high enough to kill. He must have landed weird cuz I woulda just gone back up for another jump off of that shit. If you're going to jump off of something, make it a high something... You know, so you get some good, gory splat goin on... |

Truly you can get killed just falling over backwards. Humans are not made to drop far. Experts start to frown at 16 ft. I know and so do you it seems. But if you have jumped much off of roofs you know you have to roll to dissipate force, and tuck head inside. Many don't.
