Teacher Catches a Bullet While Riding Scooter
Story is a little shakey, not because of lack of coverage, but because I had a bit of difficulty understanding the context. Giving it my best shot, though. Last week a 31 year old female teacher was riding on a scooter with another woman. They rode past some sort of demonstration or protest that, near as I could understand, involved some sort of labor dispute. My interpretation of the text was that it was some sort of labor strike at a factory or factory farm or something. The conflict seemed to be ongoing (this happened in Peru) and involved strike-breakers with weapons. In any case, shots were fired, either at the crowd or in the air, and the only people who wound up injured were the two teachers passing by on a scooter. The driver was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital. The passenger, the woman pictured here (and pictured alive in the circular insert on one of the photos) was shot in the head and died 'almost instantly.' The story also mentioned that her body lay dead in the road for over three hours before the forensics team arrived to take it away. |
