The detectives obviously overlooked one important suspect that wod have intentionally caused his death. Looks like what we have here is a simple case of a homicidal tree enraged from being pissed on repeatedly.  |

He cut off blood flow through his carotids and likely passed out right away. This is way smarter than hanging by a rope. Painless, quick, cheap, readily available... 9.5+ on the Suicide Meter. |
