Another fantastic post - I always enjoy them. I also have to say that I suspect that Suicide by Detonation of IntraANAL Firecracker is considerably less common. |

Imagine finding your son like that. What a psycho. Steals from his mom and then does this to her. They lack empathy and cant look outside their own "suffering".

Re: Suicide by Detonation of Intraoral Firecracker [Colorized]
Nice work! The only quibble I might have is the open flesh on the upper portions of the photo might benefit from a bit less orange-y shade. From the B&W we can see it was a less juicy part of the wound, but in that case the appearance will usually be more toward white than orange. A lot of subcutaneous tissue is white-ish, not much is orange-ish. But that's just intended as constructive criticism. I think you did a great job and I know how hard this kind of thing must be. |

Thanks, yeah I find the skin the most challenging part, it has so many different color tones, I try to go with a little bit yellow in the tears where there is some fat as the fat layer is yellowish but I could blend it better, also depends if I have time since skin work can take hours. But thanks |

Re: Suicide by Detonation of Intraoral Firecracker [Colorized]
Holy moly, Hermann, you colourised this?! That's incredible from those b+w images. Mega kudos. To me, you've done a great job. If I may suggest, there's a touch too much yellow tone on the tongue laceration image in general (overall) as previously noted, but I have no idea if colourising is done part-by-part or across the entire image, so my advice may not be much useful. As a paramedic who has seen many well-dead folk in my time, his actual skin tone (with retention of a touch of grey) looks reasonable--I'd perhaps lift the grey a smidge more via lightening; folk tend to look greyer in tone whilst alive but decompensating and paler once dead--but these pics are overall so good that I did not immediately realise you'd coloured them yourself and put such aberrances down to WB or some other photographical artefact. As for the case... I've seen many an intraoral gunshot but never an explosive like this in person. Brainstem maceration coupled with cerebral and general cranial destruction means little tasking for attending paramedics; bloody awful for the family and any attending emergency and police services though, and tragic all-round that an otherwise viable young life has wound up in such a sad showing. |
