When you hit water fast enough, it's almost the same as hitting asphalt.

If you decide to jump off a bridge, try not to hit feet first. There's a good chance you'll break the shins, and dislocate the hips and drive them up into the body. Then you'll bob around in pain until you either die of hypothermia or drown.

I once read some guy jumped from the bay bridge and his ass hit the water first.
He was the only one alive, after jumping from that bridge, that didn't break a single bone.
