Suicide Bomber Explodes - Frame by Frame
Nice frame by frame capture of the suicide bomber attack in Akuressa, Sri Lanka that killed 10 people and critically wounded a Sri Lankan government minister and about 40 other people. The attack was orchestrated by Tamil Tiger rebels and took place on March 11, 2009 while local Muslims were celebrating Mawlid, the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed. Sri Lankan Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mahinda Wijesekara was the most injured government official. Minister of oil HM Fowzie and other four ministers were also among injured. Suicide bomber allegedly approached the crowd on a bicycle and detonated body mounted explosive resulting in massive explosion of fire as captured in picture below:  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |
