Re: Suicide from the 9th Floor

Suicide. Pure poetry. We all have limits and I for one have been circling that signpost for a few years now. Sucks. Cyclic dysthymia, major clinical depression, hypomanic bipolar disorder, acute anxiety disorder, childhood abuse... Goooooood times.

Re: Suicide from the 9th Floor

Seems like foreigner suicides in Pattaya (usually by leaping off tall buildings) often involve a broken relationship. Sad.

http://www.pattayadailynews.com/en/2...hai-gf-splits/
PATTAYA – December 8, 2012 [PDN]: a report of a foreigner jumping off a condominium building to his death was received by Pol. Maj. Capt. Supan Sopee, officer of the shift, Pattaya police station.

He went to check the scene with the rescue team from Sawang Boriboon Muang Pattaya. The incident occurred at the Pattaya Center Condotel in south Pattaya.

At the scene, police went to the back of the building and discovered the mangled body of the victim. He was lying on his back in a grotesque twisted position, and there was a lot of blood on the ground. He was identified as Mr. Timothy Bertram Durell, 63 years old, nationality British.

Police questioned the security guard at the condominium. He testified that while he was near his desk, he heard a sound of something big hitting the ground hard. At first he thought it was a garbage bag. But when he walked out to check, it turned out to be a human, so he called the police.

From their initial investigation, the police learned that the victim had been living with a Thai girlfriend in a second-floor condo for more than 3 years. But lately they had quarreled often, and last month she packed her stuff and left. So the victim jumped from the 9th floor to kill himself.

The footage from the CCTV showed the man jumping, and his fingerprints were also on the railing from the spot he jumped. Moreover, the police found the victim’s farewell letter in his apartment. He described his feelings of being heartbroken that his girlfriend had left him.

Re: Suicide from the 9th Floor

His arms are clenched up like he felt the pain before he died, and that leg. Poor guy.
I don't understand how someone could fall 9 floors onto concrete and live...even briefly. Let alone feel any pain.
