In spite of well known deadly effect of electricity and availability of equipments, suicide by electrocution is quite rare.
Since electric burns can be produced after death, alleged suicide by electrocution should be carefully investigated.
This victim just wired his left ankle and a ring on the left thumb. The path of the current in this case involved the heart and the assumable cause of death was ventricular fibrillation.

Considering the speed of electricity, it is one of the fastest forms of death. If setup correctly, as soon as the juice is on, you’re dead! May not have felt a thing!

The time it takes to die by electrocution really depends on the amps. Found this online and thought it was interesting.
the volts is not what will kill you. It is the current transfered, ie the amount of electricity transfered. Lethal current is about 20 milliamperes. So you could have a million volts, but only say a 0.00001 milliamperes and it wouldn't kill you. On the other hand you might have 20v at 1 ampere which would kill you.
