Suha Mass Grave, Bratunac, Bosnia: 38 Bosniaks Killed in 1992, Exhumed in 2005
Thirty-eight Bosniak civilians killed in May 1992 were exhumed from a mass grave at Suha in Bratunac municipality, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in May 2005. The exhumation was completed on May 20, 2005. Forensic experts found that the victims had been shot with automatic weapons at close range. The bodies had been placed in plastic bags and compressed beneath grave fill for 13 years. Saponification had converted body fat into waxy adipocere, accounting for the pale, flattened appearance of the remains. The grave held between eight and nine children, several women and mostly elderly men. Five children were found embraced by women, two by men and one alone. Among the victims was Zekira Begic, 28, who was eight to nine months pregnant. A male fetus was recovered during her autopsy.

I was going to make a comment to the affect of, "What, killing them wasn't enough? Gotta flatten them out too? Fucking Space Savers." But, after seeing the flat baby...I am a little weirded out. I think I will add some booze to my Sleepy Time cup of tea...
