Student Hangs Herself From Tree on Public Highway
El Salvador Valeria Nicole Maravilla left several messages with family members yesterday morning, telling them that she was going to kill herself. None of the news stated the specific contents of the messages other than that. Her family had contacted authorities to try to find her, but it was too late. About an hour later, police started getting calls from motorists on the Luis Poma boulevard that a young woman was hanging from a tree and swinging in the wind. Authorities arrived and cut her down. Evidence was taken and the possibility of foul play will be investigated, just in case the messages were forced in some way. As it stands, however, police informed the newspapers that her body exhibited no signs of violence and shared several characteristics common in suicide by hanging. Between that and the suicide notes, chances are good that this was a death by self-harm. Nonetheless, autopsy results are pending. |
