Re: Strange Fishes (Drowning People Thread)
Okay I have another dump of willing swimmers who failed for whatever reason. I am going to assume to be fair that the reasons are not "they're bad swimmers" (although very possible), but rather more abuse of the alcohol and poor choices. Starting off, two young men (presumed friends), went for a swim and both ended up failing, unknown reason, presumed alcohol, although rip-tides also possible. Next up a big busted lady who drowned, location and reason unknown, but from what I first thought was hair on closer inspection appears to me to be clumps of seaweed, but could be wrong. Now unlike the others, this one isn't as clear in being in swimwear, however judging by the looks of the material I'd say she's either wearing a rash-shirt or it's from a takini top. Reasons unknown, but the image file is called "GANG-RAPE" so take from that what you will, but she looks like a drowner to me, maybe an actual murder for this one. Okay now I actually do know a little about this one. This is six year old Cristine Altea, she drowned along with the rest of her family in the Dalitiwan River, Philippians. The story goes that her family was staying at the Daltiwan Resort, however the region was known for flash-flooding which could occur. The staff at the resort warned (maybe begged) the family not to go swimming due to the danger, but apparently they willingly ignored this very good advice thinking there's no real danger. As evidenced by her pink swimsuit, the intent was clear, to go swimming. She might have been blissfully ignorant to the warnings told her parents as they put their kid in danger. Needless to say the flash flood hit and all three of them drowned. We may never know how good of a swimmer Cristine was, as nobody, not even fit adults can normally survive flash floodings. Moving from the tragic to the downright stupid, here's a video. So we have what looks like a fit enough woman drowning in a POOL in Thailand. Reasons unknown, presumed alcohol. Unless the reason is something legit medical like a heart attack or an epileptic attack, I have no sympathy for anyone drowning in a clean safe pool. %E0%B9%80%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%8D%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%88%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8.mp4 Alright so this one I don't know what to make of, we have a woman I'd say between 30's-40's who drowned. Now the pond from what I can see looks still and shallow, so unless the reason is the classic of alcohol, I am going to say it might be more along the lines of her caught up in the reeds and weeds. Which does happen. Now apparently this image was meant to go along with it, but I am not sure about that, seems a bit different to me. And now the final event! I regrettably know nothing of this one, the lady appears to be late 40s to early 60s I'd say. Because of the state of decomposition, I'd say that despite them finding her at night, she most likely would have drowned during the day. I really wish I knew more about this one, I get a 'bubbly' vibe from her, she's wearing a fun swimsuit and still wearing her jewelry, like an Italian aunt or something. Without knowing any details, I'd almost imagine she was having a picnic, been drinking some wine, kisses her husband on the cheek before going to swim to relax but someone ends up dead. What do you folk think? |

Re: Strange Fishes (Drowning People Thread)
That bloated girl really has to be young, around 20-30. Or at least fit for her age. Despite being a bloater, notice that her stomach is not that much bloated. Old ones tend to have more fat in their abdominal area and therefore bloat considerably during decomposition.
