Bit of a Final destination moment here.

25 year old nurse was mugged on the street, with the assailants taking her purse and her cell phone and then fleeing on a moped. The woman immediately hailed a moto-taxi (a half-assed motorcycle with a cab carriage attached) and told him to pursue the two guys fleeing with her purse. He obliged, let her board, and took off at top speed.

Unfortunately for both of them, he failed to brake in time at an intersection and ran the moto-taxi into a John Deere earth-mover that was en route to a construction site.

The narrative is fuzzy and a bit difficult to translate because of the colloquial dialect of the interviewees. But the gist is that the bike tipped over and threw the cabbie to one side while throwing the nurse forward against the tractor. She struck her head and rolled under the rear tire of the earth-mover, conscious but dazed. Apparently the tire shifted a bit and her hair was caught underneath it. The dazed cabbie got to his feet and looked around for her. He said she was crying for help and when he saw her trapped under the tractor, he hailed the driver and told him not to move and went to pull her free by tugging on her legs.

The operator of tractor, unfortunately, did not hear him because he was wearing headphones. So about the time the cabbie was grabbing her legs, the Deere's operator changed gear and drove forward when the intersection cleared up.

The woman and the cabbie were both screaming loudly, but he simply could not hear them. The cabbie said, at least, she died very quickly. Her head exploded like a squashed grape when the heavy tire passed over it and only then did the operator see the problem, albeit a bit too late.

The photos are few and of decent quality. You can get a lot better view of the scene in the accompanying videos. No clear images of her smashed head, assuming anything remained of it. There's a huge blood smear with accompanying hair visible on the road. Her body seems to be completely intact from the neck down.

She has clearly been moved a bit either by bystanders or she rolled sideways on her own when her head popped. Her original position is clearly evident by the large puddle of urine she left beneath her, either from fear of her impending doom or from reflex when her head changed from round to flat. I believe the first postmortem photo is after she was moved and the second postmortem photo is prior.

The thieves were not apprehended.

Fabulous photos of her alive. A classy girl, confident in herself and her attractiveness. All that time and love and money that went into raising that girl into a professional woman who liked to help others in need. All down the drain.

Super nice pumps, a great change from flip flops. I'd have chased the thief too. Not her fault the cabbie was an idiot.

But you know, at the end of the story, if that truck driver had forgotten his headphones that morning, she's still be alive.
