Steet Vendor Killed in Phnom Penh accident (Pic/Vid)
20th October 2016, Phnom Penh, Cambodia - a woman street vendor of vegetables was killed by a drunk driver/DUI. Ironically, this happened outside one of Phnom Penh's hospitals. At least she's got her joss, and the driver didn't manage to leg it. |

Re: Steet Vendor Killed in Phnom Penh accident (Pic/Vid)
I'm not sure about if fatalities are involved, but looking at a report in the Phnom Penh Post (2014) it looks like a fine for DUI is the punishment. http://www.phnompenhpost.com/post-we...-drunk-driving |

Re: Steet Vendor Killed in Phnom Penh accident (Pic/Vid)
I've spoken to someone online who's an expat in Cambodia. Apparently, money will pay your way out of jail. The richer you appear to the cops, the more serious the crime 'gets' and the amount of bribe money goes up accordingly. The Cambodian authorities are (allegedly) corrupt from the bottom up. Hope this answers your question VagaB |
