Steamrolled
27 year old teacher had an unanticipated and demonstrably fatal encounter with a steamroller while taking her motorbike to class. Alas the helmet did not save her. Specific details are a PITA to obtain due to the difficulties of translating Burmese, but fuck it. You can still enjoy the photos. |

Re: Steamrolled
Two things: 1) It’s absolutely incredible to see how the crushing of her skull caused a hernia to appear, I wonder how that could happen; 2) I’m so sorry for her husband, you can see the wedding ring on her alive and deceased pictures... |

Re: Steamrolled
I always ask myself how people end of encountering fatal things like this. She just happened to fall off her bike immediately in front of of roller? Some people are truly meant to die stupid deaths.

Re: Steamrolled
It's all in the hydrostatic forces exhibited in a largely fluid filled body. Pressure applied to one point in a body can sometime rather efficiently be transferred through the body and the result of which be seen at some 'weak point' along the way. Kinda like a hose carrying water until a leak is sprung along a vulnerable point in the hose. I have heard that umbilical hernias are fairly common. She may have had an existing condition. I have a minor umbilical hernia which is usually not noticeable. But I'm guessing a well applied steam roller could change all that. |

Re: Steamrolled
This is one of the craziest accident scenes I've seen on DR. The poor dear lady just happened to get knocked off her bike inches in front of that roller ... almost like the odds of being hit on the head by a space rock? Well, she only felt it for a second, falling to the ground. The roller completely destroyed in a second her entire head, so there was nothing left in her brain to feel pain, wonder what happened, or a slow dimming of the world through her dying eyes, like many people experience as they are dying. Really ghastly ... Closed casket, I think? |
