A young male was found dead inside a vehicle that belonged to the deceased. The victim had a belt wrapped around his neck and seemed to have been strangled.
Through expert report on the crime scene it was realized that the victim had not been killed inside the car with the belt but inside nearby residence. There was a wound behind his ear and the marks left on the victim's neck were inconsistent with strangulation by the belt.
Drop of blood of the victim inside the residence:
Blood stains on the right sleeve were produced by transfer and not drip:
It was found, through examination of luminol, that the shirt found in a bag on a bicycle had traces of blood on it even after it had been washed. It is suspected the victim was wearing this shirt before the murderer/murderers changed his top. The sandals that the victim was wearing inside the vehicle had also been washed, evidence found by the luminol test.
It was found that the injury that the victim had below his right ear had been caused by a blunt object. The lesion is compatible to an injury caused by a metal bracelet or a watch that the attacker wore on his left forearm, since the victim was murdered by mechanical asphyxia, which was caused by strangulation by the left arm of the aggressor.
Given the expert evidence, it left no doubt that the victim was murdered inside the residence by an aggressor from behind. The police found that after the crime, the ear wound had been partially cleaned, the victims top had been changed then he was dragged outside to his vehicle to make it look like attempted theft of the car stereo.
The investigations finally revealed that the perpetrator was the owner of the house where the murder occurred. The man was also indicted for the crime of fraud because he had cleaned and covered up the scene of the crime.
The home owners son was also arrested for helping to cover up the crime and help carry the body to the car.
