I expect the kids were torn between grief and confusion. the mother is dead but its still their father who did it. older one was probably thinking "if we turn on father, who else will take care of us now that mother is dead?". That is so traumatic for the children.

Third photo shows the eldest (or looks bigger and more mature) still crying over her dead mother and the youngest looks like he had a brief stop in his crying when he saw someone taking a picture. kids are sometimes like that when it comes to picture taking.

In fact we had a case here in Denmark a few weeks ago, where the newspapers told that a father killed the mother - and got the parental rights over the kids afterwards, even when he was in jail.

Authorities said to the press that so was the law, which was correct.

And the politicians got very busy to assure that the law would be changed as fast as possible

I usually don't get sad on this site, probably never have before. But this, made me get teary eyed.
