It is odd to me that in some pix the rails look like they haven't been used in a while because they aren't shiny. It must just be a trick of the light or the film. If the kid wasn't cut in half I would have to be suspicious.  Interesting and sad, Kel.  |

I don't think this was the result of a train, otherwise, that kid would've been sliced in half. Besides, as Vik pointed out, those tracks look like they haven't been used in years.

Lightly used tracks often look this way. I have seen people cross tracks in a car and on foot without looking. My bet is thats what happened. He is cut in two. An engine and a couple cars may not separate jeans.
