Son Kills Mother With Pickaxe.

On the morning of last Monday (03) a barbaric crime shocked the entire population of Ponta Pora in Mato Grosso do Sul (324 km from Campo Grande). A youth identified as Diogenes, 28 years, killed his own mother, , aged 50 years, using a pick and hammer. The perpetrator also tried to kill his own brother with several strokes of a knife as he tried to defend his mother from his psychopathic brother. The crime occurred in the victim's home in St. John neighborhood. Neighbors called the Military Police who arrived at the site found the body with a totally disfigured head and the perpetrator trying to kill himself on the spot. He was caught in the act and confessed to the crime and was taken to the police station. The Civil Police have not revealed what his motives were to commit such brutality. Witnesses said they were shocked by what happened, because the young man was apparently calm attending church with the family. The brother who was wounded managed to flee the scene and was taken to Regional Hospital.
