Re: Sometimes I Wonder What Gets People Off....
If this was a crude attempt at electrical stimulation using the mains and attenuating the mains AC 50 or 60HZ line frequency, I bet I can guess what happened. He probably had done this many times without a problem. The device looks like a scr dimmer unit that's been pressed into service as the attenuator. Two things could have happened, maybe three. The device shorted or was sloppily jury rigged or the more probable circumstance was that he touched something he shouldn't have. While a device like this would work properly, the ground would be "hot" unless he used an isolation transformer. Lots of folks met their maker fooling around with old radios and electrics that didn't use a power transformer and had a "hot chassis". Same could have happened here. While this looks bizzare, there's a rather healthy market for electrostimulation sex toys that's based on devices similar to the type of electronic stimulation units used for pain control called TENS units. They are very effective and used in sex therapy, particularly for women and also a following among gay men. This guy was just ahead of his time and apparently did something stupid. For men, a bipolar anal/prostate electrode and penile electrode would be a very common configuration as this guy seems to have used. Call it bizzare or crazy, but there is a whole subindustry both medical and sex toys that are flourishing. The next generation of sex toys for men and women will be incorporating electrical stimulation in individual products. Translation: the next generation "rabbits" for the ladies are already being designed with electrical stimulation incorporated. The only problem with this is it's crossing the border that's considered medical equipment in most countries that requires a prescription and medical supervision. B4 you condemn this guy as a sick puppy, what he did might very well the common, over the counter sex toy you might buy 5 years from now or sooner.
