It's a Taurus PT92 in 9mm. It's similar to the Beretta 92FS or M9 that's issued to the US military, except the safety is on the frame rather than the slide. The Brazilians also issue a 1911 variant, which is where the .45 confusion may come from since most 1911s are chambered in .45, but even the Brazilian ones are actually 9mm.
