A rowdy involved in several criminal cases was brutally killed at his residence at Polalai in Bantwal taluk of Mangalore district by a group of seven armed men on Wednesday morning.



According to the police, Santosh alias Candle Santhu was involved in over a dozen cases of murder, attempt to murder and assault cases.



His family members, who were present at the time of the murder, were not hurt in the incident. The assailants who came in a car attacked Santhosh with lethal weapons and fled the scene.



The family members with the help of neighbours rushed Santosh to hospital where he was declared brought dead.



The Bantwal police have registered a case and are looking for the assailants.
