They're used mostly in those countries where death is not considered a sad event, but a happy occurrence (contries like Bengal, Tokelau, Cocos, Tuvalu, Nauru, Macau, etcetera).
When someone dies, they organize feasts with alcohol, drugs, whores and all the rest, including fireworks, and this skull plays a lead role in the feast, with its light plays: the noses spotlight switches from green to red to blue, and once it switches to blue, it can work as a remotely controlled searchlight, until the grand final, when all the lights are switched on alltogether: that's the time to light up fireworks and joints, open the bottles, and start the orgy.
