Considering that a side effect to some antidepressants is suicidal thoughts, it's no wonder a lot of us lose the fight.

Those side-effects are extremely rare, but I agree with the booze comment. Since I started taking antidepressants I've had to quit drinking altogether. Hard move, because I really enjoy a drink, but it literally got to the point where it was life or death. I suppose alcohol caused my depression in the first place...

All of those side-effects and also suicidal thoughts are much more common, when you take meds with alcohol.
