A prominent police official is currently in jail and awaiting trial for his role in the deaths of five young men. He arrested them under color of authority and then promptly turned them over to the gentle custody of one of the local cartel syndicates. The following day they were found beheaded, tortured, and dismembered. When the link to him was established, he was taken into custody by (ostensibly) legitimate law enforcement.

Apparently the comrades of the five dead youths haven't enough faith in the Mexican justice system to see the corrupt cop properly sentenced and punished, so they took matters into their own hands.

His 18 year old daughter was kidnapped at gunpoint this week and discovered two days later in a roadside dump where litter and garbage are often thrown.

She was wrapped up in a blanket, but was (very) recently deceased and had multiple signs of torture on her body. There were numerous small, shallow cuts on her belly, chest, and face, clearly intended to cause pain rather than damage. The bones in one of her hands were broken, as was (if I translated correctly) one of her knees. She had been sexually assaulted by multiple people prior to death, though specific details on that were not disclosed. Finally the ligature marks on her neck indicated that she had been strangled to death by a cord of some sort.

Cause of death was ruled to be asphyxia due to ligature strangulation.
