i think I saw those pictures before. A road crew had messed up an irrigation system and water ran across the road and froze. The driver of the van lost control on the ice and slammed into a construction vehicle. Notice the heavy coat the driver is wearing. It was very cold and the ice (not seen in photo) formed quickly on the road.

THis is fairly frequent occurence for us farmers when moving equipment. People run into the back of farm equipemtn even in the day time. No matter how many bright and flashing lights we put on them.

i would say van was hauling fuckin ass and came around a corner or blind hill and smacked into the back of the backhoe
