Men do, yes. But not nearly so much as women in circumstances like this. Mind you, regardless of gender, it depends heavily on how much you've got in the bladder when you pop your clogs. That aside, though, women have been clinically proven to have a much stronger vaso-vagal response than men. This is something of a generalization, of course, as individual cases can be quite different, but it has been borne out through research. To be very brief about an otherwise quite extensive topic, the vagus nerve extends from the cranium all the way down into the abdomen and has some measure of control over bladder/bowel response function (amongst many other things). A vasovagal response will often include things such as fainting and loss of bladder or bowel control and can be triggered by many different stimuli, paramount amongst them trauma, stress, terror, or pain. Because women have a much stronger vasovagal response function reactionary to stimulation of the vagus nerve, they are far more likely to wet their pants in one of the situations mentioned above (such as being shot or strangled or threatened with a gun) than men will be. Men are capable of the same thing, of course, it is just more common in women due to how their nervous systems process the vasovagal response. Mind you, this is all quite different from a postmortem bladder release, which is equally common amongst both men and women and is simply a function of the bladder relaxing as a part of primary flaccidity. Peeing yourself after death is more a matter of how much urine you have in your bladder than anything else and affects both genders equally. Note that since the kidneys deposit urine through the ureters into the bladder every few minutes, unless you use the toilet -immediately- before you die, there's a good chance you're going to die with wet pants. It often isn't enough to soak completely through the fabric (as pictured above), which is why you don't see it in all cases on this site. It also often does not happen until the body is moved around. Furthermore, many scene photographers will deliberately 'shoot around' the urine stains or cover them with towels/sheets as a sign of perceived respect to the victim. Obviously some countries care more about this than others. :P Make sense? That was a very 'fast and loose' explanation of some fairly intricate biological data, but I figured a layman's explanation would be more satisfactory than a dozen links to medical journal sites that explain this shit in greater detail. |

No...no....wasnt that at all. She had just purchased a frappe' mocha latte with soy milk and a touch of cinnamon when out of the blue...here comes this maniac and pumps a load into her....no not that kind...I mean bullets. Well we all know coffee goes right to your lap if you spill it.
