I don't see the resemblance to the corpse with the little girl in the picture ... maybe I'm missing something. The burned girl looks like she's black (no pun intended).

I agree. The girl who is alive has a very pronounced bridge on her nose, whereas on the corpse it is almost non-existant. And it doesn't appear that is was burned away, judging from her skin.
