Gender has nothing to do with the situation. No one can defend themselves while unarmed and being shot in the back. Women have no more special right or entitlement to not be 'harmed' than men do.

Either you're onboard with abusing and injuring other human beings or you are not. To hell with this supposed chivalric ideal of it being just fine to harm another man but totally out of line to harm a woman. The notion is archaic and absurd.
