I like how they keep saying he's schitzo, c'mon. It's a damn excuse, that has nothing to do with his fucking choice to murder his father. Otherwise, I'd imagine someone along his 26 yr path, he'd had PROBABLY murdered someone else as well.

Schizophrenia is a valid argument for diminished responsibility. It does make people do things they wouldn't have normally done. I know. I had a relative, now deceased, who suffered from it.

It's all a matter of staying on medication and someone that cares enough to make sure they do. Otherwise they are normal people. They know right from wrong ON their meds, it's when they don't take them that they can't function (aka don't know right from wrong). My nephew suffers from it. He was diagnosed a few years ago around 17 and now she takes really good care of him and is his guardian. It's a shame many are homeless or have families that don't care. They are the ones that end up in our corrupt jail system.

Crazy, I know first hand how violent *some* schizophrenics can be...I have known one guy that is really nice and harmless , just a bit delusional..but I knew this woman who was a violent meth addicted schizo, who I think is very capable of murder.

Yeah but, some get out of jail and refuse to take medication, won't cooperate with family or friends, and are very violent. Sometimes the only way they can get help is by being in a halfway house where they're given no choice in the matter. It's worse if theyre drug addicts, because it exacerbates the problem and makes them even more violent and unstable. Only a small percentage of schizophrenia sufferers are like this, but trust me you don't want those ones out in public. They either end up dead, or someone else does...
