That's crazy to think that Acapulco used to be the tropical destination for so many back in the day. Now it's one of the most deadly cities in the world.

That's crazy to think that Acapulco used to be the tropical destination for so many back in the day. Now it's one of the most deadly cities in the world.
You're still fine if you stay in the tourist areas. The cartels usually maintain deals with the government to make sure that American tourists don't get clipped while chilling at fucking Sandals.

Its the ones who go wandering off the beaten path looking for 'real culture' who wind up as a statistic.

I would still be freaked out about going, especially after seeing every possible way people die on here! When I was on a cruise we stopped at Cozumel and got a scary taxi ride to a very empty beach It was very eerie and we were the only people from the entire ship that chose that particular beach. This was long before DR or any of the Hostel movies. That was when I was younger and more adventurous and didn't realize very bad things happen to people in other countries.
