Re: Russian Girl Selfie Before Beheaded by Train
suicide by train is one of the most selfish methods. not only for the bystanders, also for the railroad engineer, the cleaners and her/his loved ones. No last goodbye for them, no real confirmation. A friend of mine was planning this, i told him how selfish it was ( it was over some stupid ex ) and now a year later he told me how happy he is again, in a new relationship, a new home, a new life.

2 year old comment but oh well, for others that might be wondering why she has a ''stupid scarf on the faces'' Do you know how freaking cold it is in Russia? Most of you can't imagine.

Oddly clean for a usually messy cause of death - just a shame she did it over a broken romance. Beyond children and perhaps one or two other personal bonds, people are not worth extinguishing your own life over.

Re: Russian Girl Selfie Before Beheaded by Train
Back in the 90s I dated a woman whose father was an engineer for Amtrak. He told me that it happens several times per year for each engineer and that it is especially horrible because they can usually see the person stepping onto the tracks in the night vision cameras (most happen at night, at least in the US) but by the time the person is visible on the engine's camera, it is far too late for the train to stop. So they basically just have to watch them die. They're then required to stop the train and wait for local law enforcement, which can be a bitch depending on how far out the incident takes place, but can also delay the train by countless hours. They then have to replace the engineer, as well, and every single time the one who was operating the train when the collision happened is required to take 60 days of mandatory psych leave. So yes, you aren't even wrong. This particular method of suicide has a lot of consequences for innocent bystanders and unwilling participants in the selfish act. |

Re: Russian Girl Selfie Before Beheaded by Train
Yes. There are so many other ways to off yourself with less trauma for bystanders and loved ones. Just don't understand the whole fascination with killing yourself by train. I'm pro suicide, if you want to kill yourself, do it. But not in this way. Somehow i feel happy that i live in a country with a great euthanasia law so many people don't have to suffer endlessly. But iirc there are still 5 train suicides here every week. Speaking about euthanasia, there's this recent article of a 30 year old woman from the Netherlands with severe psychological disorders and she'll die this month by assisted suicide. |

Re: Russian Girl Selfie Before Beheaded by Train
I worked for a personal injury law firm and saw the pictures first. I could always tell what kind of accident it was when lawyers were waiting for photos. They also did a lot of injures on trains all over the US. The owners of the trains never tell you what happened or how long you would be there. What a pita! |
