Russian Construction Worker Killed After Crane Wheel Exploded
Somewhere in Russia. Some sources say the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, others say around the St Petersburg area. Apparently, the worker was inflating the crane wheel, but overdid it, causing the wheel to burst. |

Re: Russian Construction Worker Killed After Crane Wheel Exploded
Last year the back wheel of my van had a blowout so powerful that it completely tore of the corner of my bumper and ripped loose the pipe that I use to fill up at the Gas station. I dont have to imagine that the devastating power of an exploding tractor tire is enough to completely brain someone. |

That hat (top of pic 3) probably took quite a bit of "air time"! And where the f**k is his shoe? With that blast, the shoe is most likely orbiting earth at the moment |

Never inflate a 3 piece rim without a cage.

Re: Russian Construction Worker Killed After Crane Wheel Exploded
My old tire machine (Coates RC15LA-2)had a warning to not inflate beyond 45 psi when seating a bead. I know this is a split rim being done in the field, but all safety precautions still must be followed, lest ye be havin' yer skull split by the split rim.

I've never heard of using a pipe to fill up. Is the gas tank recessed or otherwise inaccessible? How did you have the pipe attached?
