While I've not done too much interior decorating myself, I have seen others do it. People tend to pick themes for individual rooms. They go by color or style or antiquity. I've seen people bring carpet and upholstery samples or swatches of paint to compare their current decorations to the available stock at furniture stores. One thing I haven't seen, is a person bring in a swatch of human skin to compare to a potential couch.

Judging by what you've written in other threads, I'm going to guess that you've never had any black friends, as whenever there's a black person pictured your comments go from slightly arrogant and occasionally ignorant to absolutely inane.
