Re: Rohingya Massacre
Such a thing wouldn't happen here, because we all still have guns. I can hardly think of a better example of why you NEVER give up your personal weapons. No Bosnia will happen here. A group of armed thugs rides into town here, they will all be either shot or hung. I hope they don't damage the truck, because another truck is always useful to have around. |

Re: Rohingya Massacre
I know. It's like, you know, the USA sucks at times with the NSA and corrupt banks and politicians and HFCS in everything we eat. But we don't wake up to pure fucking mayhem like this. We can definitely say we dont wake up to city blocks of people dead in massacres. So maybe I'll STFU when I pay my taxes tomorrow...

Re: Rohingya Massacre
In the days before modern weather forecasting the seamen had to know how to "read" the sky for portents of storms. When there was a reddish tinge to the sky around sunset this indicated that the high clouds (cirrus) causing it were well off to the west. Such clouds were often the first portent of a coming storm, but a long range portent. When they were still only seen in the west any approaching storm was still a long way off (and might miss the area entirely) You had at least 12 to 18 hours of decent weather ahead of you. In contrast "red in the morning, sailors take warning" (red skies at sunrise) indicated that the portending high clouds had already passed to the east and that the approaching storm was closing in.
