some muslim women set themselves on fire at their husbands funerals as a religious tradition. That may explain why she was found near the cemetery.

Certainly not. That's an indian tradition (hindu, but I don't think it has anything to do with religion) that a widow enters the the fire, where her late husband is burned. That solves the problem of taking care of old women. I don't think, it is done anymore.
