Re: Remember the Cop That Was Smacked in Half?
I tried to find the answers to so many questions. I thought that being cut in half and survive should be a very very very unique story and, as such, easy to find on the net. I was wrong. The "guy in the bucket" is Peng Shulin. There are thousands of reference to him and from reputable sources. Not a 100% guarantee, I saw new agencies reporting Internet hoaxes lately like the picture of the Air France plane while it was breaking apart and Michael Jackson alive getting out of the ambulance. In this case I think it's safe to say that the story is accurate. Although almost all reports seem to be coming from only one source, I saw at least a different report about him going on a trip by train in his son's arms. China Rehabilitation Research Center, where Shulin was treated, doesn't seem to consider his case as important. The web site doesn't mentioned it at all. Curiosuly, the doctor on the last picture looks a lot like the nurse helping Shulin in the parallel bars, the one who everyone thinks is a crossdresser... There's no information about the accident besides the fact that he was ran over by a lorry (a truck), which is consistent with the case of the video. No mention of his line of work either. The tires left a scary evidence. A comment for those who may get into an accident like this one, DON'T HIT THE BRAKES IF IT'S TOO LATE! It's a lot better to run over the body with the wheel spining than slide over it with the wheel blocked. Besides Shulin, I found other four cases of men cut in half that survived. - Truman Duncan. Ran over by a train. He's alive, interesting story, but not the one in the video. - Herbert Lee Grossman. Ran over by a truck, survived for three hours. 59 yo Texan, discarded. - There's a mention to a Russian, Sergey Lovtsov, who cut himself with a circular saw but seems to be a hoax. It's said that he was also working on the Chernobyl cleanup. - Amri Mohd Samat. It's was cut in half due to infections so it's not him either. All references to the case of the video are of the video itself so I can take them as evidence. I have to assume that it's Shulin, and the information placing it in Vietnam is wrong, or he didn't survive, which makes the news bit less likely to be propagated. I tried to identify the language but Chinese and Vietnamese are Greek to me. But that would be a way to prove that he's not Shulin. I agree with usdcad's comment about the cell phones. But to be sure I think we have to identify this cell phone and find out the production dates. Looks like a Nokia but I don't know the model. I tried to find more clues. One that seems to be workable is this car, that doesn't seem to be from 1995. Cars are also Greek to me. There's a truck with a huge CMA CGM identification but it's a dead end, a shipping company serving pretty much the whole world. |
