Recent Deaths Compilation (Brazil, Guatemala)
1. Iaçu, Bahia, Brazil. A man's body was found floating near a bridge on the Paraguaçu River. He was identified as 31-year-old Luiz E.M.R., the owner of a cell-phone shop. According to close friends, he was suffering from mental health issues. 2. Mata Grande, Alagoas, Brazil. A 58-year-old man, Cicero B.D., turned himself in after being accused of murdering his 23-year-old son, Claudemir N.D., with blows from a scythe. The two had a conflict-ridden relationship, and there were prior police records between the two. According to the Military Police, the argument reportedly began after Cicero arrived home and found the door to the house forced open and damaged. He found Claudemir drinking with his wife and two friends, and the two began arguing. Claudemir armed himself with an axe, while Cicero armed himself with a scythe. Claudemir was fatally struck in the struggle. 3. Medicilândia, Pará, Brazil. A body in an advanced state of decomposition was found in a rural area. It is thought the body was that of a woman. 4. Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. A man, identified as Ezenilson S.d.S. (far left in the first image), went to the house of his former father-in-law, 66-year-old pastor Francisco d.C.M.S., and asked him for a loan, after incurring a debt of 19,000 reals ($3,700) with loan sharks. Francisco refused, and Ezenilson, furious, grabbed a hammer and murdered Francisco. In the commotion, Ezenilson attacked three other people in the house, killing two - 65-year-old university professor Guilherme P.L.F. (the godson of the house's previous owners), and Francisco's 29-year-old daughter, Isabella C.M., who had cerebral palsy and was described as having a child-like mentality. A fourth victim, 54-year-old Dilma C.L.S., was seriously injured, and was discharged from ICU a few days later. After committing the crime, Ezenilson fled and threw the hammer in a stream, but ultimately handed himself in and confessed. 5. Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. A 68-year-old motorcyclist, Gilmar J.P.N., had his head torn apart after an accident. 6. CE-464 highway, Ceará, Brazil. A motorcyclist, David A.M., who worked in selling construction materials, was killed after colliding with a car. 7. Bacabal, Maranhão, Brazil. A 36-year-old teacher, Ilanna C.V.B., was riding her motorcycle when she was struck and run over by a dump truck. It is thought she made an illegal overtaking manoeuvre and lost control of her bike. 8. Serra do Mel, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The decapitated body of 33-year-old bricklayer Israel F.V. was found in a wooded area, with marks consistent with gunshot wounds. A shovel and a hoe was also found at the scene. Preliminary information indicates that the victim had left home accompanied by his brother, who at time of report had not been located. 9. Bragança, Pará, Brazil. A body of a man was found hanging and in an advanced state of decomposition. It is strongly thought the body is that of 39-year-old Lucenildo d.S.A., who a few weeks earlier was identified as the prime suspect in the murder and beheading of his 46-year-old partner, Raimunda M.d.S. 10. San Pedro Carchá, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. A 31-year-old man, Denis E.G.S., apparently under the influence of alcohol, walked into a police station with blood stains and claimed he was responsible for the deaths of two men. When police arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of two men - one had been decapitated, and the other had multiple gunshot wounds. They were locally identified as brothers, 41-year-old Toribio and 39-year-old Mario B.S. Witnesses claim that the victims and Denis were drinking alcohol at Denis' store and, when the bill came up, they refused to pay, resulting in a heated argument. |
