1. In São José de Mipibu, Rio Grande do Norte state, Brazil, 36-year-old Walacy S.d.S. was murdered inside his own house. He was shot several times with a large-calibre firearm, and then had his head cut off and taken by the criminals.

Walacy was suspected of being involved in the murder of lawyer Brenda O., 26, and her client Janielson N.d.L., 25 (last pic), who had been killed in January. Janielson had been accused of murdering 19-year-old cowboy João V.B.d.C., and it is believed Janielson's - and, in turn, Brenda's - murder was committed as revenge.






2. In a rural area of Canudos, Bahia state, Brazil, the decomposing body of an unidentified man was found in a wooded area near the BR-116 highway. The body had been found by employees of a construction company carrying out repair work on the highway.

A .38 calibre revolver and a cell phone were found next to the body.



3. In Taquaritinga do Norte, Pernambuco state, Brazil, a carbonized body was found.





4. In Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Pernambuco state, Brazil, the carbonized and decomposing body of a woman, Valéria B., was found in an area of scrubland. Valéria had been dragged from her house by armed criminals four days before, with the motive remaining unknown.



5. In Ouro Branco, Rio Grande do Norte state, Brazil, 44-year-old wheelchair user Carlos A.d.S. was killed with several machete blows by his brother.

Carlos and his brother, Edson, had a long history of arguments. Edson was arrested by police, but he claimed he didn't remember where he had put the machete after killing his brother.



6. In Manaus, Amazonas state, Brazil, an unidentified man was killed with several machete blows to the head. The deceased had been running from a machete-wielding man when he tripped and fell to the ground, sealing his fate.





7. In Nazaré da Mata, Pernambuco state, Brazil, 48-year-old José A.d.C.F. was killed with a shot in the face.

According to reports, the victim had been ambushed after stopping his vehicle and getting out to look at a sugar cane plantation.

Part of the plantation had been burnt down, possibly criminally, which would have made the victim get out of the vehicle to see what had happened.






8. In Barranquilla, Colombia, 22-year-old Yesid A.C.O. was dismembered. Yesid had only recently finished a stint in prison for extortion.

His head was found in a black bag by local residents when they noticed a putrid smell. The rest of his remains have not yet been found.





9. In El Coca, Orellana province, Ecuador, entrepreneur and concert promoter Pedro L. was killed while talking outside a nightclub by a sicario who had arrived on the scene on a motorbike.




10. In Quevedo, Los Ríos province, Ecuador, retired municipal worker Guillermo A.C. hanged himself.



11. In San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, Johan G., aged around 27, was found to have hanged himself from a tree.




12. In Yangon, Myanmar, a man, believed to be aged 25-30, was found to have hanged himself under a bridge.

A postmortem priapism is an indicator that death was likely swift and violent.
