Racism, ethnocentricity and xenophobia are also all subconcious, inherent parts of the human psyche - we are a tribal species, with an automatic 'us and them' world-veiw...we can try to be more enlightened and expand who is in the 'us' catagory, but in the end, we can never escape our tendancy to place people into groups and predict their behavior based on that...
