I guess that the photo is unrelated to the story, though many websites publish the two together: Badrodin Abbas, the victim, was shot by two motorcycle-riding assailants, no further victims were reported in the incident; plus, it seems that it was result of mistaken identity, since the van he was driving (a three-wheeled one) when he was attacked, was usually driven by his brother, who's thought to be the actual target. That photo, according to most of the captions accompaining it, shows the result of an attack that took place in Paranaque City (while Abbas was killed in Cotabato City) and it's often used as illustration in articles about journalists killed in philippines. It happened in January 2009, btw.
